April 2019

Fundraising

Tesco Bags of Help – Please ask all your friends and family to vote for us at Tesco Holmbush and Express – you can take tokens from the tills and vote – the voting closes at the end of April and if we win, we could win a donation of £4000.00 to develop an eco and sensory garden in Mary’s Garden.

We are very proud to announce that the Great Swiss Gardens Pancake Flip was in the top 5% of fundraising on Just Giving this quarter – thanks so much the feedback from kids, teachers and parents was great and you all raised just over £2000 for the school – flipping brilliant!!

Clubbing for Parents – A MASSIVE thank you to parents Annalies and Ben Simon who, in conjunction with parent DJs Zoe Hart, Huw Jenkins and Ali Ogden and fabulous face painter Caroline Lawrence, ran a hugely successful Clubbing for Parents Night at SYC earlier the month. Over 100 tickets were sold and everyone had an amazing time and proved you are never too old to party!! The event raised £1000.00 for the school – watch this space for the next Clubbing for Parents event.

Garden Borders – you may have noticed dedicated grandparent Cheryl working hard to get the borders looking great ready for the Summer. Cheryl is doing this all in her own time at her own cost as a donation to the school for which we send our thanks.

If you are interested in running an event to raise funds for the school or getting involved in any way please get in touch – we have a just giving page and are happy to give as much or as little support as you need.

Donations

We are researching some playground sail shades and extension to the traverse wall as well as planning to donate to the School’s future IT provision on a regular basis. We continent to donate money to the school for play equipment, games, and classroom enrichment items.

Spring Dress Down Day

On Friday April 5th we will hold our Spring Dress Down Day as a fun way to end the term and raise funds for school projects, playground and It development and classroom enrichment. All children are encouraged to come to school in their own clothes if they want to and if you would like to make a donation to the PTA please give to the class teacher or just the donation bucket in the Office.

Diary Dates

Our next full PTA Meeting is on the 2nd May where Mr Caughlin and Mrs Treasure will present approved I.T. plans which the PTA are hoping to support and fund. We will also be taking ideas for playground and Mary’s Garden Development and discussing the Summer Fair and other fundraising ideas. We will update on 2019/20 Trustee status and discuss future Trustee applications to be agreed at the September AGM.

On 6th June we will have a Summer Disco for the children in the School Hall.

The Summer Fair is on the 6th July this year and set to be another amazing fun family day – please keep the day free so we can have as many supporters and volunteers as possible and ensure everyone has the best fun making money for the school projects in 2019/20.

We’ll be sending out a list of things we need or ways you can help soon but for now keep an eye on our Facebook page and emails for updates.

If you are thinking of going to the Tots Rocking Beats Event in Brighton this year please use the link below to buy your tickets as we will get a 10% commission. www.eventbrite.co.uk/
