Free Home Learning Links

At the risk of giving away all the teachers’ secrets, here is a list of websites that we sometimes use to help the children with their learning which might be useful for you at home. We’ve also added some other sites the children might enjoy.

Third Space Maths Hub

Hundreds of free resources are available on the Third Space Maths Hub. Click on the link below and follow the instructions.

1. Visit the Maths Hub registration page using Google Chrome, Safari or Edge
2. Under ‘Job Title’, select ‘Parent’
3. Enter your child’s school’s postcode and select the school name from the list
4. Enter your email and create a password

White Rose Maths

This is the scheme we follow at school. They are putting up 5 lessons a week for each year group with a video, activity and answers.

Premier League Primary Stars

Resources cover maths, English, physical activity, health and wellbeing for both key stages.

Twinkl

Thousands of resources across the curriculum. Also includes suggest timetables and links for home learning.

BBC Learning

Videos and games to support learning across all subjects of the curriculum.

Literacy Shed

A wide-ranging collection of videos and pictures that inspire discussion and writing ideas.

West Sussex Libraries

You can join online or use your library card number to access free ebooks.

Oxford Owl

Free access to ebooks and other resources. Sign-up needed.

Scratch

A coding website for children. They can play existing games, study the coding used and create their own.

Cosmic Kids Yoga

Some videos are free to access. Also available on YouTube. Particularly good for KS1.

Resources easily accessible across the curriculum, labelled in year groups or key stages.

Jump Start Jonny

Fun videos the children can use to keep active. Energizers, fitness challenges, chillouts, mindfulness as well as free downloads.

Mo Willems’ Doodle Lessons

This link takes you to the first of a series of daily doodle lessons by American author Mo Willems.

Joe Wicks

Live PE video lessons – no equipment or outdoor space needed.

GoNoodle

Free access to fun videos of songs, dances and games the children can join in with.

Master the Curriculum

You can gain free access to fun resources for maths for all year groups.

Radio Blogging

This is a site run by educators where children can read, listen to and share creative writing.

Topmarks

Activities and games to help children with their learning in many areas of the curriculum.

The Book Trust

Find new books and write reviews. Also games and read-along stories in the ‘Books and Reading – Have Some Fun’ section.

Edinburgh Zoo

Although the zoo is closed, the site has interesting information about each animal and live webcams.

100 Things to do Indoors

Babelzone

This language site is making resources free for 3 months for French and Spanish. Just use the code LCF2020sch when creating a single-user log-in.  

Science, simply – Samantha Gouldson

This site answers many scientific questions in an easy-to-understand way. Children can also submit science questions to Sam.

Sir Linkalot

This spelling site is free while schools are closed. It has an app to help children learn spelling in a fun way.  

Carol Vorderman

Maths games, lessons and activities are currently free while schools are closed.

British Sign Language

Free daily lessons on YouTube for children to learn BSL.
