The Gateway Hub – Summer Lunch Club

My name is Nathalie and I volunteer for the newly established organisation, the Gateway Hub. We formed during the Covid Pandemic, offering essential supplies to families and individuals impacted by the lockdown. We work alongside the local food banks and service Shoreham, Southwick and Fishersgate. As the need continues, we plan to continue with our community support long term.

We are launching the Summer Lunch Club. We are aware that many families will find feeding children during the summer holidays challenging, therefore, we will be providing lunch supplies each week. We are working alongside Rosie at the Co-op Community Space. Before we launch this project, we are gathering some essential data to learn what families need the most. We would be so grateful if you could send this short survey out to families ASAP, so we can provide the best possible service as soon as the summer holidays begin.

We can be contacted via our website www.ssfcs.org or directly by phone:01273 978 566 and email: shorehamvolunteers@gmail.com

We will send a follow up email in five days, with details of how we can help with food for kids over the summer holidays.

What else do we do?

Shoreham Academy kindly donated us a space to work from at the Gateway. This is also where we receive and manage all donations, which are immediately placed into quarantine and then processed for distribution.

From the Gateway Hub, we are running three main areas; The Grub Hub, The Kids Hub and The Help Hub.

The Grub Hub provides:

Food vouchers, fresh food, emergency food; care parcels (soap, deodorant, sanitary items, toiletries roll); cleaning products & laundry powder.

The Kids Hub provides:

Baby care parcels; kids’ clothes (gift wrapped); activities, books, toys & educational items; birthday presents/cakes.

The Help Hub provides:

Advocacy, signposting & help navigating the benefits system.

Any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Many thanks,

Nathalie
